Where can I find a specific wedding cake topper? I'm looking for a very specific wedding cake topper for a friend. The groom is standing upright, and the bride has her hand placed on his chest with her head slightly tilted. Does anyone know where I can find this topper? Thanks!
The topper I'm looking for is on the 5th wedding cake down on the right side. The bride called the cake company and they have nothing to do with the toppers. Where can I find this specific one??

"Michaels" does, too"
littlblueyes replied: "I rented mine from a local bakery. Ten bucks, plus $20 deposit. I didn't clean them before i took them back, and only got $10 of my deposit back. Call around."
janetrmi replied: "Is there a Michael's craft store in your country? If so, they sell cake stands.
Otherwise, you need to go to a bakery supply company and see if you can buy some from them."
Irish replied: "Why don't you, if you have the time make one or go to a plastics/model making shop & ask them.
Also cake shops will probably have them or at least know of who does."
Sophiesmom replied: "Check your local bakery, that will be your best bet...You can rent them, return them and save a ton of money...I did this with my cake, i did my own...It was beautiful i must say...."

But you might try expanding your search by excluding "wedding" from the search and looking for "cake stand" or "cake tier."
Also, definitely try your local bakery/cake shop. They may let you rent one of theirs for a small fee and deposit."

There are several places on the web to contact for help. I will keep looking but in the mean time you can take a look at these as they may provide an alternative if you don't get the one you want!
Second link do ones to your specifications so you may get it made that way!

I have looked on Ebay and found one but it is completely out of my price range. I would appreciate any help.
It's not so much the redneck thing. I am having a country wedding. My fiance is an serious collector of John Deere, diecast tractors. It just seemed a fun way to incorporate the two. I've tried the weddingpeople site but the item has been discontinued but that's the right one nonetheless.

Unique Wedding Topper Ideas? Me and my fiance are marrying in may.
We want a wedding cake topper, but don't want it to be the traditonal Bride and Groom just standing there. We still want it to be like that(a bride and a groom), but doing something fun or some characters in a bridal gown and veil and a tux. We were thinking Precious Moments...but weren't too sure! Pictures too please if you can! Thanks in advance!
Anna, I loved that idea! But I hate eBay! Do you think you could give me a link not on eBay?
Kaitlin, your link isn't working....

What cake would go well with this topper? I was looking at cake toppers, and this figurine made by Willow Tree seems just right. We can even keep it afterwards for putting on a hearth or something.--Together-Wedding-Cake-Topper-Figurine-p-359.html
The problem is that it is 9 inches tall, and there will be less than 15 people (including us) at our wedding. I don't want the cake to overwhelm the guests, and I don't want the topper to overwhelm the cake. Would it be appropriate to do a bundt cake like one of these: and put a stand in the middle to hold up the figurine? Do you think that would be enough cake for 10-15 people? Thanks!
Also, if you have a better idea/photo, please let me know!
What, Taj???
I photoshopped the figurine onto the cake. I'm not great at computer stuff though, so I hope it is clear enough!

Taj S replied: "THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!"
Platinum Bride 2B replied: "Jane,
I think your idea of having a bundt cake is a superb idea! I feel that it would compliment the topper quite well, and that it's just the right amount of cake for your number of guests. Good job!"
iloveweddings replied: "Hi.
LOVE the topper and the bundt cake idea.
The bundt cake would be very different....in a good way! I have never seen that at a wedding, but I love the idea. It would be perfect for your small reception and would work perfect with your topper."
LaLaLa replied: "I think what you have picked out is really pretty and will look great with the topper you have picked. Witch is really cute. If your getting married in the fall I saw a cute cake that would also look good with that topper I think. Just another Idea for you."
Erix_Fiance replied: "I think the topper and bundt cake are AWESOME.
I also came across this cake and thought it would be nice too.. It's not a bundt, but I thought it would look nice too
and maybe you could do a small version of this one:
Here's a Heart Bundt Cake:
I really like the F20(very bottom right) on this page(you might even be able to have them stand inside the heart, or above it):=&tbnid=SBuC75COKklxMM:&tbnh=102&tbnw=116&ei=P-ruSPSzD47ogAKhgdXiBA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dteeny%2Bwedding%2Bcake%26start%3D20%26ndsp%3D20%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
EDIT: I really like how that looks, You're a lot better at PS than I am LoL. But for some reason, I would probably make the bundt a teeny bit higher around the edges, OR have a ring of roses/ivy(or flowers of choice) going around the figurine."
juliepuhlee replied: "For a small cake and a large topper I would put the cake (bundt would be lovely but whatever you choose) on a pretty cake stand and have the figurine on the table in front of the cake."
jenifajen replied: "LOL I don't know what a bundt cake is. Maybe its an american thing :)
If I was you I would have a simple cake and have the topper next to it. Because the topper is so tall it might look odd on a small cake.
Or another idea is to have the cake topper on the top of a cupcake stand and have cupcakes as your cakes. This can look really affective (and you could do it yourself if you wanted) like this: but have the topper instead of the top layer of cake.
All the best and LOVE the topper :)"
Dee replied: "I love the topper but to be totally honest .. the cake is not my style. It doesn't mean you shouldn't get one just because I don't like it.
Personally I would have picked a cake like this (number 9)
It is the perfect size too and the texture will compliment the wooden topper. Or maybe something like this only in one tier tho.
I hope this helps you even if it is just a little bit.
Good luck!"
Jessica replied: "I really think that the bundt cake idea is cute. (Good job photo-shopping by the way) Another option, which would be really cute, would to be to have small individual cakes for people. Get a three tiered cupcake holder and have your figurine on the top tier. Then place the individual cakes on the bottom two tiers. Then you know you have enough cake and it'll look fabulous.
"
riversconfluence replied: "When I read your idea, I thought hmm, but the picture is great, your idea solved your problem, and it looks nice, too. You could stay with the cake pictured, it looks like it goes with the couple. Or go froo froo hearts and flowers.
I thought to make the bundt look like a heavenly cloud, it would look like the centerpiece people were in cloud 9. But do the blue and white in subtle shades to go with the wood figure s color.."
Making my own wedding cake? Ok, so I can cook/bake/make almost anything (as long as I have directions on some things). Well there probably will only be around 50 guests at our wedding (very small, but at lot of people can't come bc they are out of state). I figured I could make my own wedding cake. Here's my idea. I'm buying a 3 tier cake stand (the plates are different diameters, bottom one biggest, top one smallest). Well I'm wanting to make a 3 layer cheesecake for each tier. They are all going to be chocolate cheesecake and decorated with pink sprinkle sugar stuff and the top one the topper will be on w/a couple of pink lilies on it, and the bottom 2 tiers will just have pink lilies on them. It's looking good in my head, but just wanting some people's opinions on it. Any suggestons will be helpful. I'm doing them choc w/pink decor bc my colors are choc. brown & pink. I'm pretty confifent in my cooking abilities though. Thanks!
oh great idea about the ribbon! I'm going to do that too! =) (Oh and I will have plenty of time to make it, like I said its going to be a small wedding).
Oh and I'm going to have a practice run next month with my idea, just incase so I have plenty of time to order one, lol!
A W replied: "Honestly, do you really want the added stress of making your cake in addition to having the normal stresses of a wedding? Personally, even though it is a little more, I would rather just purchase my cake, have them design it, and have one less thing to worry about myself."
maigen_obx replied: "How do you have time to bake your wedding cake. The week before your wedding is really hectic and you would be much better off leaving it to a professional. You would have to bake the cake a week in advance and then it will be really stale."
Lily J replied: "hmmmm...I don't know, everything sounds really good except for the pink sugar, maybe you should leave that of because it might make your cake look like a little kids art project. Whatever you do, have fun! And by the way, congratulations!"
Dancer Mouse replied: "Cheesecake? I want to come to your wedding! That'll be beautiful!"
Katherine replied: "ok so how about also adding a pink ribbon around the bottom of each cake , I think that final touch will make it look more polished and pull the whole look together."
enriquelomasa replied: "Some tips:
Be sure to add in pillars so the tiers wont topple over while your making them. They look like 2-3" spools. About a pinky-width in size.
Keep in mind weather, temperature, and bugs that will be present.
Think of a covering if your cake will be outside.
Not all people like or can have cheesecake. You may want to make a small sheet cake that is just normal chocolate cake.
Also, be sure to think of how you will move the cake around once you're done."
duckie replied: "You are going to be so busy the week before your wedding, why would you want the added pressure of making your own wedding cake.
There are plenty of gorgeous, less-expensive cake options available. Speak to a bakery in your area, and work something out.
If you are insisting on doing it, don't say we didn't warn you and don't be shocked if you spend the night before your wedding running all over town looking for a last minute cake."
Suz123 replied: "Personally . . . just my opinion . . . I would not want the stress of making my own wedding cake.
So unless you are a professional baker, I would advise against this idea.
Please hire someone who bakes and decorates wedding cakes all the time, if only to take stress off yourself. If the budget is the problem, check out your local grocery store bakery. Many grocery store bakeries do very pretty and tasty wedding cakes at reasonable prices."
christinastone_bishop replied: "This is your day and you should be able to do what you want...Keep in mind that you will be very busy and think about how you handle stress...Also ask yourself how upset you would be if something went wrong and you ended up with a cake that didn't look good or taste very good....No matter how good of a cook you are things happen...It's called life...If you are okay with the answers to these questions then go for it...If you even second guess your self for a minute then go to a friend or a professional...My mom is making my cake...Homemade but not stressfull on my part...."
MICHAEL replied: "Please see the links below, the first one goes to an article suggesting that your idea is trendy.
The second is a recipe for a cake that is like the one you describe; and can be used by you as general guidance for your planned cake."
Elsie replied: "I don't recommend it, even if you are a good baker. I was going to do my own flowers, because we only had 80 people, I'm pretty good at that kind of stuff, and to save some money. My husband talked me out of it, saying "Do you really want to spend the night before the wedding making bouquets and centerpieces?" I was a little disappointed that I wasn't going to do it myself, but I agreed with him. In the end, I was really happy that I did. I was able to go out for cocktails with my wedding party after the rehearsal and then back to the hotel where all of my family was staying, and spend some time with them. I can't even imagine how stressed out I'd be if I'd had to spend that entire evening "being crafty".
I work at a restaurant that does weddings, and we don't allow home made cakes, for liability reasons. If our staff serves the cake, and the guests (God forbid) get sick from it, we could be held responsible, even if we didn't make it. If there is a bakery with liability insurance that made the cake, then the responsibility falls on them. This probably won't be an issue if you're having the reception at a rented hall with an outside caterer, but if you holding your reception at a place that is also providing the food and/or the staff is serving the cake to the guests, make sure you get it cleared by them before you proceed.
One last comment: the first year I was working at this place, a bride, unbeknownst to us, made her own cake. We didn't find out until a week before the wedding, so the owner decided to allow it, rather than make her go out and try to find a bakery on such short notice. We allowed her to deliver the cake to us the night before. She said it didn't need refrigeration, so she was just going to set it up in the room where the cake table was supposed to be. Well, she arrived on time to deliver the cake, but informed me that it had fallen over in the back of the SUV on the way there. She said she had it boxed, and it shouldn't have tipped, but it did. The only thing she could think happened was that the night before, she had the cake sitting next to the stove when she was cooking dinner, and the heat from the stove may have "melted" the filling in the bottom layer. She thought the weight of the cake and the jostling of the truck on the ride over must have caused it to "collapse". She said she was going to go home and see if she had time to bake a whole new cake (the night before her wedding!!!). She ended up just buying circular styrofoam forms from Michaels Crafts and using it as a "dummy" cake. Then she went to Sams Club and bought sheet cakes to serve as dessert. She was amazingly calm about it all...grace under pressure, I guess.
If you love to bake, and really want to do something for the wedding, consider making cookies as favors for the guests to take home. You can do cut outs and decorate them in your wedding colors (chocolate frosting with all the pink accents you were going to do on the cheesecakes). You can do them the weekend before the wedding, rather than stressing out about being responsible for "the star of the show" (next to the bride, of course!)."

littlemisscontroverse replied: "Hey, if you think you can pull it off then go for it. That link that michael put up looks beautiful it says 150 servings but if you notice at the bottom it says they are smaller than traditional wedding cake servings (that's pretty small) and it includes the top layer so it might be perfect. (he always has great answers btw)- I've been wanting to do a cheese cake for a grooms cake but I the only place that will do it, is a pricey bakery and I don't know if I need that added stress, I wish someone would volunteer.
It sounds like your cake will be beautiful. good luck."

This is a good article on doing a cupcake tree:
O Cupcake Tree posted December 13, 2005
by Rebecca Michaels
The construction of the cupcake tree can be done in a couple of ways. Some companies actually make them out of pieces of cardboard that you assemble at home. These will run you about $20. The other option is to use graduated sizes of cake pedestals stacked on top of one another. If you don't have different sizes of cake plates, that's okay. Just stack the smaller ones toward the top. You can fill in the tree shape when you distribute your cupcakes on the plates.
Determine how many cupcakes you'll need for your party when you plan your cupcake tree out. Figure about 1 1/2 per guest. Extras are better than not having enough and having to look at a bare tree. The more you put on the plates, the fuller the tree will look. But don't crowd them to the point where they start bumping into one another and looking manhandled.
Decorating the cupcakes is like decorating your Christmas tree. Again, personal style is the key. Do you tend toward the simple white lights and a few strategically placed velvet bows, or are you an all-out "let's DECORATE this puppy!" with multi-colored blinking lights and heavy, heavy on the tinsel extravaganza-type? Experiment with sprinkles and dragees (those little sugar balls that come in different metallic-like coatings), with sugar paste flowers that you can buy at cake decorating supply stores, or even by creating simple plaids out of different colors of frosting.
Decorating all of the cupcakes the same way creates an elegant showpiece perfect for a sophisticated Christmas Eve dinner or New Year's Eve cocktail party; using multiple artistic techniques creates a homespun, more casual feel that's great for events with lots of kids or people who just like to beat to their own drums.
If you want, add a few bows or tinsel to the sides of your cupcake tree, but try not to make it look too busy. Or add a tree topper to the top pedestal to really give it that ultimate holiday look. Most of all, have fun decorating your new tree. And the best part is that you won't have to clean up all the pine needles you tramped through the house when you clean up!
Ditto on ditching the cake topper. This is your wedding day, and denegrating marriage and/or your spouse in any way, no matter how cute people think it is, is just not funny and in fact, kind of disrespectful. If you really want to use it, I think it would be better suited to a more informal shower."
kateqd30 replied: "Grooms cakes arent meant to carry the theme of the wedding they are there to display what the grooms interests are.Like if he is into sports its a sports theme, motorcycles, fishing etc. The theory is that the wedding is the brides taste so the grooms cake is something soley for the groom to show off his likes and interests. I wouldnt do the topper you have with the key, I would have the cake reflect him.
As for your top, remember that the top layer isnt supposed to be cut at all, its to be taken home with you and saved for your first anniversary. You will probably just pose with the knife for your picture in a set up shot, you wont really cut your cake since its cupcakes."
rosekm replied: "You'll need at least one cupcake per guest. I would probably make at least 175 just to be sure you have enough. Some people don't eat cake but there is at least one person who will eat like 6 cupcakes. I would advise against cutting the top layer. First, you are supposed to save the top layer. Second, there isn't enough support for you to be bearing down with a knife. Your whole tree may collapse if you try to cut the top layer. I would also rethink the topper. I have seen similar and you're right the bride and groom thought it was funny, but most of the guests did not. I was particularly offended by one that had the groom on all fours with a leash held by the bride. These aren't really funny. They send a bad message and many of your guests will find it to be in poor taste. You don't necessarily need a topper at all. You could just have flowers or seashells. Additionally, the groom's cake is for the groom. It should reflect his personality. You shouldn't have anything to do with it. Put him in charge of making/ordering it. Let him do whatever he wants. Don't worry about it. The worst thing that will happen is you won't have a groom's cake. If that happens then it really didn't mean that much to him. It won't ruin your wedding either way."
Veronica W replied: "You can either use the mini cake on top for cake cutting and freeze the rest of it for your anniversary. Or you can feed each other a cupcake and save the entire mini cake for your wedding. But you can't go wrong either way.
The grooms cake can be any color, flavor, or design. It does not have to match your theme; rather it should reflect your fiance's interests. I would ask your fiance what he prefers since the cake should be of interest to him as the groom.
I'd recommend having at least 1 1/2 cup cakes per guest. Not every guest will eat a cup cake, but some guests may have more than one. So I think 180 would be a good number to make.
Here's a couple of pictures to give you an idea for a cake display with a mini cake on top and cupcakes:"
